I think that’s what they call the day after Christmas. Box up all the presents you don’t want and return them? Or punching the relatives you didn’t enjoy? Sounds rather negative to me. If someone could tell me the REAL positive premise for the day I’d appreciate it.
Yesterday was fun. Oliver got up a little before 7am (surprised it was normal time, thought he’d be excited and wake up early.) He went downstairs and was overjoyed that we had both a) a tree that we could get to without furniture and toys stacked around it, but b) PRESENTS under said tree. I was a stinker and hid the main present from HO HO BEHIND the tree. When I asked him if he got everything he wanted for Christmas a la Christmas Story, he said “YES!” and was overjoyed. Well, that sort of deflated my bubble. I said “Wasn’t there something that you wanted from Ho Ho that you didn’t get?” He replied “Yes, but you said I can’t expect to get EVERYTHING I ask for and I got a lot!” Uh, guess I trained him well. Dragged out the gift ANYWAY and his face was priceless. didn’t get a great picture of it, but the initial picture was alright. You can tell he’s happy anyway. Wish I’d captured the sparkle in his eye though.

There were MANY great presents, but the other one that I really loved was when he opened his stocking and found a light saber in there. Star Wars is a favorite these days and it was not something he had specifically asked for so a total surprise. He was waving that thing around so madly I couldn’t get a picture to save my life.

With the table cloths hanging in the windows to direct the stream that’s been coming through our ceiling/windows. Note the size of those containers! SHEESH.

In any case, it was good the living room was cleared out for his crazy light saber battle with who-knows-who.
Got some good-ish news today. At least some of the ruined ceiling/windows/walls/floor/electrical/phone will be covered by insurance. I’m not sure how much, but got my claim in today. Sadly, the swimming pool that is my living room will most likely stay that way until the spring. Should have gotten Oliver roller skates for Christmas. Oh wait, I think he has some at my mum’s. Will have to “borrow” those. This morning Oliver woke up at 5am. “Mumma! It’s ALMOST morning and I’m too excited and want to play with my new toys! GET UP!” ahhh, that’s what I was expecting yesterday. I do not think that I will get to sleep in until 7am next year.
I’m off to finish off my project for The Paper Tree for January. Please check it out — I’m dropping it at the store tomorrow and I’ll try to post a picture of it here later tonight. It’s definitely different….Needle felting on a canvas that’s been scrapbooked? Don’t know where my head is these days, but will try to come up with something “normal” for Feb. And for those of you willing to try something new, come play with us on the 8th! AND! You will leave with new TOOLS included in the class kit!!! That means that you can do this as many times as you want (and it’s darn fun and a good way to get rid of stress!) Am I being a TOTAL TEASE?!?! Promise to post at least one picture later. Maybe tomorrow. But promise to post. And I’m off and running!
