Okay, so I just had to post what I’d be so happy about this morning. I surely was. My husband is somewhat of an artist when it comes to pancakes. You’ve never seen such a good Mikey or Sulley from Monsters, Inc. And Star Wars things? So good. All I can manage to make is a Death Star (for those of you who do not know Star Wars, this translates to a round pancake.) Peter’s got the x-wing fighters, Tie fighters (okay, I might be able to pull off one of those), yoda. You name it, he can do it. Seriously, you think you can make good pancake figures, try it. The batter goes all over the place. Mine always end up looking like MELTED whatever I was aiming for. Anyway, today I think he outdid himself. I got myself an Oliver pancake while I was tip-typing away up here.

Note the identical big smiles and the ever-present hat. If you see a picture of my boy without his orange hat it’s because I MADE him take it off and there was much whining, I assure you. Today was a busy day. Finished 2 Christmas gifts, made 3 dozen cookies to include in packages (always more difficult with a helper, but much more fun that way!), wrote two notes to include in packages, helped Oliver with some drawings he was working on, went through some … writing assignments for lack of a better term … with the boy, went out to plow the drive and got the plow truck stuck in the 4 foot pile of snow I made at the top of the drive (never happened before in the two years I’ve been doing the plowing), dug that out for an hour, finished the top of the drive, went down the drive (from which all the plow guide posts disappeared) and while trying to find a place to stick the 15+ inches of snow we got and got it stuck AGAIN when the front tire slid off the drive (this time not to be unstuck. Hopefully AAA can pull it out with a winch tomorrow!), went sledding, got MYSELF stuck in the snowbank (that’s three right?!),

read Christmas stories, finished up a birth announcement…won’t tell who. And no, it’s not mine. Who the heck started the rumor at The Paper Tree that I was pregnant?!?! I AM NOT. And let’s not let that little declaration jinx me, eh?

I’m such a tease with my non-face-baby-photos, eh? Sorry, you’ll just have to wait until the mum sends out her announcements, THEN I’ll post.
I don’t know what else I got done today, but I know there was more. And the night is still young. I’m off to wrap presents, finish up my boxes to New England-foreign-family so they can GO GO GO tomorrow, draw up the lunch box notes for the week (or at least for tomorrow) and maybe even take in a Christmas movie while I do it all. Haven’t seen A Christmas Story yet this year and Christmas just isn’t complete without little Ralphie. Since the 80’s nothing has ever been Fragile. It’s always Italian….frah-jeeee-lay. So I’m off to shoot my eye out…er…wrap presents. Don’t stick your tongue to any flagpoles…it’s mighty cold out there!
