Okay, first to explain the weekly assignments. Make them what you want to make them. They’re yours to make what you want. They’re yours to use or ignore. They’re yours to inspire or otherwise jumpstart you when you need ideas. I will have some of my own ideas on here. I will post ideas that I’ve pilfered from other places to inspire my own art in need of jumpstarting, and I’ll gladly take reader ideas. What will I do with mine? I’m not really sure since I’m not sure what ideas I will post. Remember, I have until February to OFFICIALLY start my year. I’m slow, what can I say? I think I’ll plan to at least be able to put most of them in a book. But I cannot promise since I’m not so hot at following directions. Anyone who knows me AT ALL knows I’m completely incapable of following directions. So I cannot even hope to follow my own. But I’m loosely planning on a book of the weekly things at the end of the year. The first project I did sort of automatically makes it a big book. Little pictures are fun, but I WOULD like to be able to see them. Okay, on with the vacation stories. I promise not to go through a painful minute by minute, but will post the better points.
Firstly, thank you GREATLY to my Aunt Florence, who is 85 and still able to show us a rockin’ time! Seriously, if you need the best vacation ever, you need to get yourself an Aunt Florence.
Will try to post links to our favorite things whenever possible. That said, I need to post this since we had to see it 6 times while in California. Not tough since it was hugely funny. I have to say, funny on tv, but MUCH better in person. The guy was great with Improv. And, being such a huge fan of martial arts films, Godzilla theater nearly had me wet my pants the first time I saw it. Kevin Johnson’s show only fell slighly behind “THE BIG TEST” in viewings (15) which was the fireshow at Legoland. Sadly for y’all, no video available. Edited: Ah ha ha! I found a REALLY BAD home video. Now you too can be singing this song 24 hours a day with your kids. If you need to hear any of the other part of the show, give me a call. I can do it for you start to finish. All 6 parts. Oliver finally got brave at the end and FINALLY let me take a picture of him with part of the crew. They laughed when I said he’d been stalking them from afar for 10 days. Actually, one of the guys in the show recognized me and said something to me the last day we were there. nice. honestly, we were only at Legoland for 5 of the ten days. yes, that works out to three shows a day. and the last two days we only did two shows — our whole day at Legoland was planned around getting to the Fireshow on time.

We were fortunate enough this year to be in town when they were hosting a marathon. We did not participate/watch that, but we were all over the Keebler Kids Marathon Mile the morning before the big race. We did participate in that and it was tons of fun. There was this group of kids there that played trash cans, water bottles, brooms, etc. It was incredible. Couldn’t find a video of them, but here’s the website.

No more vacation ramblings for now. Must go play with my poor neglected child. After having his parents’ full attention for 10 whole days, he’s not handling “chores” very well. Since blogging is coming after paying bills, grocery shopping, inspecting rained on areas in the house, laundry, luggage, etc, it’s beyond his limit. My heart goes out to poor poor Peter tomorrow morning when he has to drop the kid at school. WHAT?!?! No mumma or daddy for the day. Oh the horror.
On that note, enjoy your evening — start snapping those photos!
