Oliver starts soccer next week….it snowed today. Big huge wet flakes. They turned into rain later in the day, but in the morning, Oliver was standing at my bedroom window “IT’S SNOWING!”

We do live in NH. I hate to say it, but I sort of hope his first soccer game gets called off. Snow. Rain. Whatever. Why you ask? I am to be the assistant coach and I will be out of town. But more importantly than the assistant coach bit, I will miss his first soccer practice/game ever! Uh, so not fair. I will be having a good time at Inspired, yes, but I will miss his first game. So if it would just…something…for the first game and they could make it up when I get back, that would be lovely.
We purchased all his soccer items last week and he’s very funny in them. Ran around the house like a little rocket (yeah! cleats all over my house!!! note heavy sarcasm!) I loved when he pulled his socks on. He didn’t realize they were supposed to be folded down, and they’re a little big, so the first sock got pulled up to his hip — you can see the aftermath of that in the picture. All I could think of was “I wonder if they sell tiny garters….” Horrid mother, eh? I also like the tag on the cleat. I hope he lets me cut that off before his game. he thinks it’s part of the shoe….

So title of the blog today…Happiness comes in the form of mail. It certainly does! All night I have been turning around the thought of the most amazing package that came in the mail today. It has left me completely dumbfounded. If I tried for a million years I could not properly put my feelings into words. Unheard of kindness and thoughfulness. Thank you Kal.
Love your weekends — I’m off to start packing my stuff for my trip to Inspired next week and hopefully finish a present that I’ve been working on in minute increments for awhile now. Cross your fingers for craft day tomorrow! Sweetest dreams of happy mail!
