So the sun is out and shining and it looks like everything is glittering it’s so bright! Love that. Not sure what Oliver and I will do after school, but all the indoor plans I made last night for us today seem LAME given the sparkling world that awaits. So sorry to Cameron and Aunt Florence that were getting homemade goodies in your packages. Those will have to wait for another day (but I’m still going to try to get your stuff to the PO today!)
Oliver and I took a trip over to Beaver Brook after Soccer last Saturday. He was so very excited because a worm puppet was going to talk about Vermicomposting. We already have a “wormery” as Oliver calls it, but it was GOING TO BE A WORM PUPPET! Okay, whatever. So we head over there and you can only imagine the disappointment when the celebrity was not scheduled to arrive until the following Saturday. So after much moping, Oliver decided he wanted to hang around in their gorgeous gardens.
I am totally obsessed with this flower we saw! It looks like a little hanging lantern. If anyone knows what it is (and where to get it!) please please let me know. I MUST HAVE SOME OF THESE! I keep thinking of little balloons, little lanterns, little hanging jack o’ lanterns. It’d be like having a little party in my yard all the time.

Oliver pointed out some little flowers:
and we found this gorgeous flower
and we chased a monarch around
Do you know it’s really hard to get a picture of a butterfly flying? I had no idea they’re so fast!!! I thought they sort of lazily drifted around. Not the case….at least not with this one. I have about six pictures of half a flying butterfly. It could work for me…I just haven’t figured out how yet.
Today is going to be a FULL day. Pack some boxes, work on a book, write two FAR OVERDUE letters, pick up the child, hit the PO, MAYBE work on a Halloween project, put up the Halloween stuff, play outside, eat lunch, play outside, pay some bills, clean up the disaster that is my house, play with a friend outside, have some dinner and then, hopefully, if I’m not totally exhausted, I can get some work done after Oliver goes to bed. I’m off and running!
Oh, before I run off, if you haven’t had a chance to check out this from a previous post, please do:
I will be participating in the Making StridesAgainstBreast Cancer walk on the 19th of October with a couple of my friends. If any of you can provide any support, it would be GREATLY appreciated. I have been so fortunate to not have had breast cancer, but I have had cancer so I am a huge proponent in supporting anything that helps fight it. I realize times are tight, so no worries if you cannot make a donation. However, if you could even give $5 it really adds up. Also, if you are in the NH area and are interested in joining our team, there is information on the website.
Thank you!
