Okay, so as it turns out, I *DO* actually need sleep. WHO KNEW? There has been not much of it lately as I’ve we’ve been GO GO GO going. So if I actually need to sleep (EVERY DAY?!?! Are you sure I need to sleep EVERY DAY?!?! That seems a little extreme, doesn’t it?) then I’m petitioning for a 36 hour day. That way I could pack 31 hours worth of stuff in and still manage a few hours EVERY DAY. Anyone with me?
Whoa, I was bowled over with all the “AYE!”s. I’ll just add “alter the rotation of the earth around the sun” to my list of things to do.
So, I have no time to blog lately (as you’ve all noticed with the chirping crickets from the blahg here) so we’ll be doing a quick recap through photos tonight. Hopefully I’ll be back around with more this week. I have more photos than I know what to do with.
Friday Peter and I headed to New York to Jeremy’s “White Coat Ceremony.” It was kind of fun as the parents got to sit in on a bit of a cell class and head to the lab for a brief lecture. TOTALLY interesting. TOTALLY over my head. His mum, her boyfriend, and Peter’s sister Ruby also met us there. It was a bit of a bummer in that we did not get to see much of Jeremy. But the classes were good and it was nice to see a bit of his campus, meet a couple of the profs, and hear about all that’s going on, what hospitals and resources are available to them, etc.

Saturday I was up bright and early for picture day for soccer. I do not even know what to write here. My kids were sooooo good for the pictures (which was totally unorganized and a lot of waiting around in a line for the photographers to be ready for them.) They were being good, but apparently storing up all that energy because they let loose on the soccer field. IT WAS NUTS! I do not know how I did not leave that field hog tied to a stake because it was totally LORD OF THE FLIES. Crazy crazy (wonderful, but crazy) kids. And my assistant coach was absent that day, which is fine. But I’ve come to the conclusion that besides the pictures causing a bit of a disturbance, she’s probably the one that keeps the order. Go figure – me being forever five and all (as witnessed by all the parents at Oliver’s friend’s birthday party that afternoon.) After soccer, we ran home, ate lunch, and then excitedly headed to Colby’s birthday party. I took a gazillion HORRIBLE photos. I have to see what I can do with them. I’m embarrassed to post, but I really want to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY COLBY! one more time.

I can’t believe I’m posting these AWFUL photos, but I LOVE the look on the kids’ faces. They just had the best time! Thank you Colby!

After the party we ran some errands and got home at bedtime (what happened to the day? It FLEW!) So, that brings us to today — we met Oliver’s friend Caleb and his mum at Caleb’s football game this morning. We cheered and cheered and it must have done the team well because THEY SCORED AND WON! WHOO!

I thought all the little kids looked so cute in their uniforms. I’m not quite sure how their little necks could hold up their BIG helmets, but they all seemed to make it, so….

Nikki (Caleb’s ANGEL of a mother) offered to take Oliver home, better yet, to HER home for the boys to play while I did a photo shoot in the afternoon. FANTASTIC. Course then we couldn’t pull the boys apart, so when I went to pick him up after the shoot we ended up staying for hours…and food. Nice. Chris took the boys for a ride on the lawn tractor. It must have been super scary fun because they were all screaming.

The family for my photoshoot this afternoon was super fun. Two boys — aged 12 and 4. The older boy wants to be a photographer so he was a great help. He had certain ideas about what he wanted so we started with some basketball shots. These photos are the first 6 randomly chosen photos for editing from today. I only got 8 edited tonight so there wasn’t much for me to choose from for the blog. They’re probably not the best photos from the day, but they were ones that looked interesting from the one inch thumbnail so I started with them.
Also, a couple people emailed me and asked why on the last photoshoot I started adding “OliveriFairy” to the photos. I’ve just recently added an option for shoots where you can order photos from me instead of buying the rights to print them anywhere. It’s a little bit cheaper for the shoot, but the clients MUST order their photos through me. So they’re “proof”‘d for the blog. I assure you, if you go with this option, my logo is not sprawled across the middle of your photos when you order them. I have yet to update my website with the pricing for this new option. It’s brand spankin’ new and I’m not sure I like it yet — It still needs work. I’ll set it in stone later. Anyway, please enjoy these boys — they had a lot of fun together and I was amazed at how the older one sort of took care of the little one. He raked leaves for him to jump in, went on the swing set with him, sort of wrangled him around….it was just surprising for an 8 year age difference.

Their eyes are the color of the sky, no?

Bright sunny day… photo’s all washed out. It needs some work.

Hiding in the flowers lasted about two seconds….then there were BEES! I couldn’t tell if he was a little frightened of them, or just really excited and interested.

I have to give full credit to the budding photographer on this one — he suggested climbing down under the bridge. Y’all know I was all for that! Love this photo.

Hmmm, 11pm and not a lunchbox note done. Bag’s not packed for tomorrow, homework is strewn about, I have some forms to fill out that are to go to school tomorrow, and it would be good to get a couple more photos edited. Must go go go again.
Sweet dreams!
