My new camera came in Thursday. I opened it as quickly as I could and took it with me to Oliver’s soccer clinic. Didn’t bring the strap or anything — crazy grabbing it out of the box and fortunately had stuff in my camera bag to make it run. Like a battery and a card. Whew! Because I could not stand to have it in my possession for over two seconds and not be clicking away. The soccer clinic was indoors, far way from where I was sitting, and rather dark. Recipe for disastrous photos. I STILL HAD TO TAKE PICTURES. So chalk these up to CRAP-SHOOT photos. Awful photos that you love anyway.
I wish I had video of this one — The coach asked them to work on heading the ball. Oliver’s never SEEN it done much less done it himself. I believe the ball landed on the ground and he bent over and stuck his head on it. Coach came over right after that and showed him how to do it. After he stopped laughing.
Look at his little legs going! Further proof that my child is the Tasmanian devil…(or that I’m just a really awful photographer…)
…and he’s lost his tail….
Yup, he got it in!
I was actually very well controlled — I didn’t jump up and do cartwheels while cheering or anything. I did quietly clap and wave my arms around in the air wildly (quietly…) when he looked my way though. His smile was from ear to ear! Priceless. Tomorrow I will torment the family with the new camera. I was to have a shoot today, but it rained so we postponed. I’m actually pretty happy about that. It would be nice for me to be able to give it a REAL test drive before I have to use it on a client.
Well, let’s see….it’s midnight so I shall start some lunchbox notes for next week and maybe get a movie or two in while I do them, catch up on some scrapbooking, and make some more books for next week’s show. It’s time to put it in HIGH GEAR! GO!
