EDITED: MOST pictures updated and a few added. Happy Holidays to all. We have been enjoying our holidays VERY much. We managed to get out of NH despite the two feet of snow and land in Sunny San Diego on Monday the 22nd. We are spending Christmas with my Great Aunt — she is 86 and this is her FIRST Christmas. We are having a fabulous time. She is amazingly talented and so we decided that we were going to MAKE all our Christmas decorations — and this is my most favoritely decorated Christmas EVER. We started with some pom pom snowballs to hang from the tree and then she made some amazing sewn paper poinsettias to place around the tree. Not her favorite thing to make, but they sure perked up the tree — it needed that splash of red everywhere. The paintbrush Santa was one of the ornaments we brought — I made these with Oliver’s class at school. Sadly, most of the parents will not receive theirs until after the holidays. With all of the ice storms, school was canceled for a week and so the holiday party did not happen. We will have it when we get back though — HOORAY! We decided to make button Christmas trees and snowmen. And I’ll have to post pictures of the paper chains later because for some reason I can’t get the pictures off that camera. Will have to try that on my own computer that I know.

This is right before we opened presents — Oliver was so very excited. Woke Aunt Florence up at the crack of dawn with squeals of “HO HO CAME!” Aunt Florence really went above and beyond to make it a lovely Christmas for our little cute patoot. We realized at about 8pm that the child had no stocking here. She whipped one together in no time. It’s really great to be hanging out with someone so crafty. We have been having a lovely time together. The day after Christmas we went to Legoland.
Legoland has a new SeaLife attraction — a really nice aquarium attached to the park (but still sort of separate.) It was pretty cool.
The aquarium had some nice places that children (and adults) could touch various different starfish, mussels, urchins, and some creatures that I’m not sure what they were.

Peter decided that this was a cake, not a creature. It was, in fact, a creature.

This castle was in the aquarium with some bricks that children could add to it. Oliver ended up meeting a little boy. I jokingly said to his parents “Well, I guess we’re spending the rest of the day together…” We did. AND, oddly enough, they are from the next town over in NH. We are really looking forward to getting together with them again on New Year’s.

Some various different creatures…it was difficult to take pictures — the entire aquarium was very dark in order to make all the floating lovelies glow. MUST TAKE PHOTO CLASSES!

Adore the next picture of the boys reflected in the tank with the lego tree in the background — could clean it up in photoshop, but I kind of like it just the way it is.

The boys flying around — I really like this picture….blurryness and all.
Hope y’all are having an equally good Holiday season!
