So life has been a little out of control lately and I’ve been MIA again. Yes, it’s true. And I have little time to blog tonight, but I would be remiss if I did not wish my favorite person in the whole wide world the Happiest Birthday Yet!
Happy Birthday Oliver!
We celebrated with family today and will celebrate with friends soon. Oliver said he had a great day despite the fact that both Peter and I are sick. We’ll make it up to him. He did get to play at Mimi’s house for a few hours (AND BEAT ME AT STAR WARS TRIVIA?!?!?! Holy cow that kid remembers EVERYTHING!) We had crepes for breakfast/brunch and I’ve forgotten how much I love those since it’s been YEARS. Then, upon Birthday child’s request, we hit up Panera for dinner. His special treat?! TWO of what he normally orders. AND HE ATE THEM! wow. (Oliver and I are hard-to-the-core-Panera-junkies. He’s been calling it Panahouse since before he was totally talking. You know, “Mama”, “dada”, “Panahouse” so it was indeed a special birthday treat.)
I cannot believe he’s six already. How good times fly. Next week he’s the “Star of the Week” at school. This means he needs to make a poster all about himself — he’s excited about this and has been working on it for quite awhile now. One of the things on the poster is “List three special facts about you.” or some such thing. Immediately, the number one item HAD to be “I have always liked hats.” Which is entirely true. Even as a baby he wanted his head COVERED. So we were looking through pictures tonight to find all phases of his favorite hats. It was kind of fun to put together and I wanted to post it here. For those of you who have known Oliver since he was little, some of these hats will bring back some memories. You may not remember what his face looked like, but he’ll be forever identifiable by his hats….it’s probably his defence against his paparazzi mother.

P.S. Does anyone remember his orange hat looking new like that?!?! I cannot!
P.P.S. I miss the spider hat. It just made me laugh all the time.
