Pumpkins

Every year Oliver’s school library displays the children’s pumpkins….all dressed up like Childrens’ Books’ Characters. You may remember last year’s, Cargo and Woot. This year we were a little pressed for time. We actually picked the characters by ease of pumpkin modification rather than favorite characters, although we really do like both these books. Next year though, both Oliver and I agree, we’d like to do the play with your food kid from The Rules. I think we also might like to do Chalk and Cheese, though that will take some thinking – they’re not really pumpkin shaped. Though, the bit where Cheese is dressed in the coffee cup to stay warm…..classic. Yes, there’s definitely possibility! Please chime in with your favorite books/characters. I’m always looking for new and exciting children’s books.

In any case, drum roll. Oliver chose Huggly this year. He did an amazing job.

Mine did not come out as well, though it’s still festive. I chose Steve from Dumpster Diver. It’s a cute book that we just checked out of the library the other day. He had a nice round pumpkin shaped head. And vinyl tubing does not like to stick with glue. AND I’m amazed at how much junk we have around the house. Very convenient for last minute pumpkins.
