California Part 3: My favorite!

I think the best day we had in California on our previous visit was to Cabrillo National Monument. Last visit we completely missed low tide. This visit, we planned around the nicest day and to hit it up at low tide. We were not disappointed. Heavy on the pictures in this post because this was my favorite day and some of my favorite pictures ever.

I am happy to post two pictures taken by other members of the family.

Oliver has become very very good with the camera. I really want to get him his own SLR.

Oliver told Peter to take a picture of he and I — WAHOOO! I don’t even have to be the one to order other people around with the camera.

I don’t know what this is, but it’s one of my favorite pictures of the day.

There was so much to see in the tidepools. I’m going to limit myself to these couple (plus that odd thing above!) Sadly, we did not find any seastars, but I lost Oliver to the pull of sand art. He couldn’t be bothered to look in the tidepools too long when there was a long flat perfect beach to do some drawings on.

The rock and sand formations there were really amazing. This was Oliver’s favorite spot. He liked how the rock formed a little bowl.

We watched the surfers on and off during the day. They were pretty far away. Sadly, this surfer guy about to bite it is my favorite picture of them…

The sunset was amazing, and the moon was even more beautiful. I love how you can see the texture at the bottom of the moon.

Beautiful Fall Days

Just got to explore the NH Audubon with a wonderful family. It was a great time and so incredibly beautiful. And for those of you who know me….no birds attacked! AWESOME!

This family totally rocked my socks off. They had the best time together and it was all smiles all the time. Happiness is so infectious!

You can see this poor family did not have ANY fun together at all….

Almost Fall

I am short on words these days! I had a lovely shoot with a lovely family in an apple orchard this weekend. The first photo I think is my favorite from the day just because nothing makes me happier than a sleepy child in my arms. So I can only assume this Mumma was feeling a little bit ‘o bliss.

This photo seems so harsh after the last dreamy one, but I thought Dad deserved his little snuggle as well.

Adore Pumpkin and Big Feller. And some geysers to boot.

Really loved the light here. Forget which waterfall this is. Brian has set me straight — Sabbaday Falls.

Love these little guys because they eat mosquitos.

Were you singing? No? Then you must not be from the east coast. My friend and I decided to take full advantage of voting day and lack of school to a) vote and then b) head to Boston for an adventure with our five year olds. We had an AMAZING day and the weather was just wonderful. My camera is still broken so the pictures left A LOT to be desired, but at least I have the moment, if not blurry and pixelated (BOO!) Some of the pictures are okay, but the camera definitely needs some help. Turns out I have to not only BRING it in, but SEND it in. So I’m giving it up for WAAAAAYYYYYY too long. ~~Looking~~ Frantically searching for a rental or something to take care of my clients that are coming up.

Anyway…
Found this very cool thing growing out of the sidewalk. I definitely don’t have cool enough plants at my house. I need some of these and some of the chinese lanterns.

this would be hiding and then chasing the birds ACK! right into me. And he’s rather excited for the Duck Boat tour — see the brochure he toted all over Boston?

On the duckboat. We did not get to sit together. The kids were up in the front by themselves and they were so well behaved. I still can’t believe how good they were. We all really enjoyed the tour — Howie (our “vacation planner” was a riot.) And he let the kids drive the craft. cool.

We went into this amazing church — I loved when we walked in — Oliver looked up and “Whhh-ooooowwwww!” in a little whisper-y gasp.

Another fabulous tour guide in the church (so good to the kids). She took us into the original part of the church.

Blurry picture at dinner. Yes, I do know how to use the timer function AND FOCUS my camera. My camera just doesn’t want to behave. But I love all of us together after a long but super-fun day! (And both boys are so hungry they have to eat their arms?)
